Mission

Al Qalam leads the generation of knowledge through robust research and formation of communities along Islamic and universal values towards understanding and celebration of diversity and realizing a socially-just and ecologically-balanced society (Ar. Ummatan Wassatan).

It promotes inclusivity, common good (Ar. Maslaha), and harmony (Ar. Sakina) by giving space and voice to faith communities and marginal groups through:

• Educational reforms
• Discourses on Islamic knowledge and philosophy
• Retrieval and preservation of indigenous knowledge and culture
• Educational and cultural exchanges with national, regional and international communities
• Inter-civilizational, interfaith and intra-faith dialogues
