Reflections: Roxas Night Market Bombing Last September 2, 2016

Where: Conference Room D, 3rd Floor, Ateneo Community Center
Date: Sep 7, 2016
Time: 4:00 - 6:00pm

Recent events in our country and across our world are deeply troubling.

No doubt that the recent bombing in Davao City has a negative impact upon Muslims and Non Muslims in our country today. The bombing had been linked to the Islamic perspectives of Jihad, mudjahideen, and the pronouncements of the Abu Sayaf Group for holy war causing hostile impressions against Muslims. As a result, the acts of violence and words of exclusion have threatened our trust in one another.

In this moment, it is important to take time to come together and express our solidarity and our commitment to unity, to understanding, and to inclusion.

This event will be dedicated to this task: gathering of Muslims within the Ateneo Community to reflect on the message of Islam; hearing reflections from faith leaders across traditions; and joining together in prayer and call for unity in our country.

Everyone is enjoined to this reflective event.

In partnership with Interfaith Peace Council for Peacebuilding in Mindanao.
